Wow a lot has happened this week in the land of Gill’s Bright Lights!

This week was the Nashville Davidson County Christmas Light Competition Judging week. Monday night we learned that we had won our District. Wednesday we learned that we won our Region for the first time. Tonight (Friday) we finally made it to Countywide Judging. Winners will be announced next week. Thank you to the judges for their donation of canned food for Second Harvest!

Over the week we have collected $26 and 111 items for Second Harvest and tonight we collected 10 more items and $48 for a grand total of $74. This means Gill’s  Bright Lights and our giving fans have donated 404 meals for Middle Tennessee in only 9 days!

Another surprise was that Channel 2 News showed up out of the blue and we might be on the 10:00 news tonight!

Gill’s Bright Lights has won the 2011 Ann Chapman Holiday Lights District Winner! Regionals are Wednesday and Thursday wish us luck!

We still worked on Gill’s Bright Lights this weekend. After living with the display for a couple of days we found we wanted to change somethings. We changed some of the children snowmen to red and green lights because we felt everything was so white. We also wanted to add scarfs to them to add a little something to them. We didn’t like the lines in the grass (snow – cool white LED’s) so we took them up. We had some issues with some things not working and we fixed them. Brandon is still programming songs so if you came by this weekend we will have more soon. We hope to add at least two more songs.

The Second Harvest Food Drive is coming along. We have already had 40 items donated and $27. A big thank you goes out to the families that have donated food and money to feed fellow Middle Tennesseans.

Just a reminder Gill’s Bright Lights is sensitive to rain because it is computerized. We will be on unless the weather does not work with us! Thank you to October Woods subdivision for letting us do this!
