Green Wire to White Wire

Items Needed: Light Strands, Styrofoam, White Spray Paint & Lots of Patience.

We were in need of about 40 Green Lighted Strands with White Wire for our 5 Tree, Tree Line. We found white wire white lights and white wire red lights but for the life of us, we could not find green. So we decided to make our own. It took as while to figure out we were going to paint the wire without painting the green bulbs. After some research and the good folks at www.planetchristmas.com, we bought a couple of sheets of styrofoam at JoAnn’s Arts and Crafts. We then took each strand and inserted the bulb into the foam. We were able to put 4 strands (2 on each side) into each piece of foam. We took the sheets with the lights outside and Spray Painted the wires with with white spray paint. It took us 1 Can of spray paint per piece of foam (we made sure we coated the strands well). After doing that 10x we had our 40 strands for our Tree Line.Make sure you let the lights dry outside in the heat for a few days. The longer they stay out in the heat…the less tacky they will feel in the end.
